She is unique amongst the long line of Grand Wagoneers that have passed through our doors as she is the lowest mile Grand we have ever, ever sold. We sold her for the first time back in 2015 wearing just 24,086 original miles, In the last 7 years she has carefully covered 3,000 additional miles and remains in beautiful condition.
It is a marvel to imagine how every year in this century this Grand Wagoneer gained in value and appreciated markedly. She did that, all the while giving her owners enjoyment and the pride of possession. How many other vehicles can say that? How many other makes and models of classic cars can do that? Every indication in our hobby, no matter the economic weather, is a extreme and documented low mile piece like this Grand Wagoneer, will continue to appreciate in value. Low mile 40 year old convertibles are everywhere because many were just used on sunny summer weekends. Low mile 37 year old 4 wheel drive SUV’s are a completely different and unique animal.
Carfax confirms the super low 27,050 miles are original, clicking up nice and slow over the decades with no accidents reported against her.
The other matter that makes this one unique amongst all Grand Wagoneers we have ever sold here is this is also the only Grand Wagoneer we have ever sold that we didn’t restore. First and foremost, we are a restoration house that restores and then sells our Wagoneers. This one, frankly didn’t need it when she first arrived here back in 2015 with 24,086 miles on her and she still doesn’t need it in 2023 with 27,050 miles on her. She does wear a badge from a different Grand Wagoneer restoration specialist that carried out works that we believe were organized earlier in the prior decade. When and what precisely was done isn’t in her document file and therefore not precisely known to us. It is of little matter as we have her here with us once again and can see first hand the quality of this very special Grand.
The Dark Honey Metallic exterior paint and the exterior wood siding remains in superb condition. We do believe that the paint and vinyl sticker were redone in her history and completed to a high standard. There are a few age and usage nicks on the exterior but nothing we feel that takes away from the overall magnificent condition of this low mile piece. The exterior wood trim appears factory original and is splendid. Four new white wall tires were just fitted, wrapping around the original factory wheels and those wheels likewise show just minor usage. We have also attached a new spare tire to the undercarriage for future needs. Same goes for the bumpers and balance of the exterior brightwork- Still presently in very strong condition with just slight usage and wear evident, reflective of her super low miles travelled.
The matching honey interior cabin is a masterpiece and is in excellent condition with again, just slight usage and ageing present. The leather seats, carpeting, even the floor mats, appear to us as are factory original. You would be hard pressed to find a nicer interior in a vintage Grand Wagoneer anywhere. The operating luxurious features by 1985 standards include the power windows, seats, mirrors, factory AM/FM stereo, cruise control and the all important air conditioning.
The 360ci v8 motor is running well, with the standard Jeep carburetor set up. She fires right up every time. The transmission and 4 wheel drive system are likewise operating as they should. Keep in mind that even though she isn’t one of our fresh restorations, there has been an extensive amount of mechanical and servicing works recently organized and sorted on this Grand…She is ready for a new key holder.
