Grand Wagoneer by Classic Gentleman, Internationally recognized as a leading buyer, restorer and seller of low mile excellent condition Grand Wagoneers, presents this beautiful 1989 vintage Grand Wagoneer in stunning Dark Baltic Blue Metallic.

Whilst we have been restoring and selling Grands for decades, we only began our full frame off restorations with newly remanufactured engine, rebuilt transmission, reupholstered seating and much more, during the 2022 year and thereafter. This example was restored prior to those protocols so her works, whilst not as extensive as our currently finishing offerings, were still exceedingly considerable.

Carfax confirms the low 101385 miles are original, working out to a remarkable under 3,000 miles per year along with no accidents being reported against her. Also importantly confirmed by Carfax, over 99% of those miles were accumulated in the deep southern states of Texas and Georgia providing a undercarriage and frame that are sturdy and strong. There is nothing more important for a vintage Grand Wagoneer than it comes from the right areas of the country, keeping them far away from corrosive winter road salt. For Grand Wagoneer by Classic Gentleman, a Wagoneer from a non-road salt state vs one from a road salt state is the difference between a restoration candidate or a parts car.

Chrysler Corporation made the final changes and upgrades in the 1989 Wagoneer -these changes would carry thru to the 91’s- the last year of production. Production numbers began to decline in 89 -with the final 3 years of the Grand Wagoneer production line offering the fewest Grand produced over their 8 model year’s historical run. Because of the low production numbers the availability of very good condition, low mile ’89 Grand Wagoneers is quite limited- especially in the highly sought after blue and sand combination. Speaking of very good condition, check out the images of this wonderful ’89. She is beautiful inside and out.

This ’89 is a returning Grand Wagoneer by Classic Gentleman alumni, with her restoration finishing approximately five years and under 1,500 miles ago. Her former owner is a favorite customer of ours, a movie producer and multiple repeat buyer who enjoys rotating his classic Grands regularly.

During her restoration here, the exterior was repainted in the original Dark Baltic Blue Metallic paint and as you can see, it remains in very good condition. Everyone loves blue Grand Wagoneers, everyone. The paint has also been protected with a ceramic coating. That classic wood siding, sourced from Team Grand Wagoneer, was affixed by us along with fitting the wood trim that borders the siding. That new front grill frame that we installed is now no longer available anywhere and is a real plus to have on this ’89. We likewise fitted a new windshield. The original wheels were also professionally re-finished and 4 new whitewall tires have just been installed. The remaining exterior bits like the bumpers, center wheel caps, door handles and side mirrors, and so on, whilst not new, display just normal ageing and wear. They all still suit the finished Grand well.

The cabin is finished in the popular Sand color and is in very good condition. The steering wheel and dashboard were re-coated, along with the leather portion of the seats. We fitted new carpeting on the floor, both in the cabin’s seating area and the cargo area, along with the cargo area sides and interior tailgate. Just the carpet on the back of the seats and lower door panels, where the carpet receives no wear, is original. Custom Grand Wagoneer floor mats are also included to protect the new carpeting. A fresh headliner was also installed above it all. The interior features include power windows, power seats, power mirrors, power door locks and air conditioning The vintage stock looking FM Stereo also has Bluetooth connectivity.

The engine, transmission and the 4 wheel drive have all been serviced and are performing just as they should. A quick listing of our mechanical/electrical works include the important updating and upgrading to modern fuel injection. That upgrade alone adds a throttle body, electric fuel pump, new engine harness, electronic ignition module oxygen sensor, electronic speed sensor, ignition wire set, distributer cap and rotor, spark plugs and chrome ignition coil. Other works included front and rear shocks, front brake pads, front brake hoses, rear brake hardware kit, battery, rebuilt starter, muffler and on and on.

Why buy from a Grand Wagoneer specialist?

Our entire focus is on Grand Wagoneers and we know these unique vehicles inside and out. When you purchase a Classic Gentleman Wagoneer it has been thoroughly inspected and works completed by professional mechanics, some with over forty years of Wagoneer experience. We purchase fine example Jeeps from a variety of sources including other dealers and private parties. We are often told by the seller, “My Jeep is excellent and needs nothing” however, being in this profession, we know to expect and plan for a great deal of sorting. Remember the average age of these vehicles is over thirty years old and even with loving care many the cosmetics and mechanical parts have aged and worn accordingly. When a Classic Gentleman Grand Wagoneer arrives at your home, it is a special occasion and the Grand will be in beautiful condition. Yes, our sales are as-is, but your Grand has been looked after carefully. Our goal is to see that the joy and enthusiasm of Grand Wagoneer ownership begins immediately with your purchase and that it will be there for years to come.

Still, and here is the most honest paragraph you have perhaps ever seen from a restoration house/dealer, in some ways these Jeeps were terrible even when they were new. We can’t change the method these were built by the factory. In many respects the manufacturer used outdated technology and manufacturing methods and as a restorer, we will always be compromised by that circumstance. Did you know you can remove the front grill from a final year 1991 Grand Wagoneer and behind it still see the round cut out holes for the 1963 Jeep Wagoneer headlights? That is just one example. Therefore, please understand you will do more maintenance and servicing of a vintage Grand Wagoneer than a modern piece, even one we have looked after. That is just a truth, fellow enthusiast. If you don’t have the un-excitability and tolerance for that, then let us say to you candidly, don’t buy one. But let us also remind you that it is indeed that old school style and looks of a Grand Wagoneer that have made them so ever popular today.

Be sure to have a look at our website’s recommendation page where you can see first hand the positive experiences of a worldwide assortment of named buyers. We deal honestly and work hard to insure a happy buyer. You will never be chased for a sale but given all the time needed to insure if a purchase is right for you. Guided by these principals, our modestly sized niche dealership has built a loyal and devoted customer base spanning 5 continents.
